Vietnamese President’s Germany visit important to bilateral ties

(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to Germany has been a headline of many major German newspapers. The Neues Deutschland daily called the visit a highlight of 2015, which marks the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic ties. It said Germany considers Vietnam the most dynamic and friendliest economy to investors in Southeast Asia and praised Vietnam’s recent economic achievements. The newspaper said that the EU-Vietnam FTA will create new momentum for Vietnam’s economic development and Germany will continue to be Vietnam’s important trade partner in the EU. The newspaper said that the strategic partnership in politics between Vietnam and Germany will be deepened if Germany and the EU contribute more to the peaceful settlement of disputes in the East Sea.

The Tagesspiegel newspaper ran an article saying that Germany considers Vietnam one of its top partners in Southeast Asia. It quoted President Joachim Gauck as saying that Vietnam will continue to reap greater success in its renewal.

The Presseportal, the DPA, and the Finanznachrichten also ran articles analyzing the importance of the Vietnamese President’s visit to Germany.
