7th “Red Sunday” blood donation campaign

(VOVworld) - About 15,000 blood units are expected to be collected at the 7th blood donation campaign, “Red Sunday”, held on Sunday in Hanoi.

The event, co-organized by the Tien PhongNewspaper, National Traffic Safety Committee, Management Department of Diagnosis and Treatment under the Ministry of Health, and National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, is held in 18 provinces and cities across the country. At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke highly of functional units and volunteers for their participation: “It is essential to promote communication to make people more aware of the significance of these activities. I hope that blood donation campaign will be further widespread in the society. This is very significant to save people’s lives”.

The organizing panel targets to collect about 15,000 blood units to meet the blood demand for emergency and treatment in hospitals during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
