Presentations showed that countries have recorded significant economic development results, but poverty has remained a global threat and is a cause of social disturbance and insecurity. Following the global financial crisis, developing countries have had to struggle with high unemployment rates and low economic growth. Vietnam’s poverty rate has reduced from 60% to 10% over the last 2 decades.
The workshop aimed to enhance cooperation among universities, social organizations, and governments on existing poverty reduction programs.
