In recent years the six provinces have launched multiple activities to preserve their tangible and intangible cultural heritages and have worked together to link localities in the region to boost their socio-economic growth. Nguyen Van Tuan, Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said:

To tap the region’s potential and advantages, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism asks the provinces to create masterplans and implement tourism programs by designing new tours and developing new tourist destinations. Localities should coordinate on projects which focus on exploiting tourism resources sustainably and responsibly with respect to the environment and strengthening personnel training to meet the requirement of linking with other key tourism areas, especially Hanoi.
