ASEAN youth optimistic about impact of technology on jobs: WEF

(VOVWORLD) - Southeast Asian youth are highly optimistic about the impact of technology on their job prospects and incomes, according to a new survey by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Technology will create more jobs, said 52% of 64,000 under-35 citizens from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam, while 67% believe technology will increase their income. Executive Chairman of WEF Klaus Schwab said the 4th Industrial Revolution will create more jobs and everyone needs to be well-prepared. He said young people are expected to adapt quickly, and young businesses will drive the new technology.  

ASEAN is market with potential because of its young and growing work force. It adds 11,000 workers every day and this rate will continue for the next 15 years. This will help ASEAN seize opportunities created by the 4th Industrial Revolution.
