Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue opened the 13th National Radio Broadcasting Festival 2018.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said advancing technology has diversified demands for information and significantly changed media production modes. The Deputy Prime Minister called on radio broadcasters to keep up with advances in technology, and interact with the public: “Radio broadcasters should inspire patriotism, national pride, and social responsibility, enrich people’s knowledge, and encourage people in national construction and defense. Stories about business startups, innovation, anti-corruption efforts, new rural development, poverty reduction, defense of sea and island sovereignty, and examples of good deeds are broadcast daily on the radio. This encourages people to personally contribute to a better future of our country”.

From 257 entries, 216 works were selected to advance to the final round. Finalists include 31 ethnic language programmes, 33 radio dramas, 65 reports, 53 journal programmes, and 34 live programmes. This year’s entries reflect Vietnam’s comprehensive reforms in politics, economics, society, culture, and national security, the communication of ethnic and foreign policies, and international integration in the new period.
