An award ceremony held by the Can Tho City Union of Literature and Arts Associations for prize winning works in 2019.

The Can Tho City Union of Literature and Arts Associations has 600 members who are active in various fields. Artist Nguyễn Hoàng Dũ, Deputy Head of the Union, said the Union has organized annual competitions on “Studying and Following Uncle Ho’s Moral Example” for its members. A lot of the art has won prizes at competitions nationwide and is much loved by the public.

This year, a competition on writing play scripts on this topic was launched.

“All this year’s entries have vividly reflected how people actively respond to the nationwide campaign on studying and following Uncle Ho’s moral example. The works have been able to capture the public interest,” said Du.

Artist Truong Huy Hoang said such competitions are great opportunities for both amateur and professional artists to show their talents and creativity.

"It’s always been an honor for us to write about President Ho Chi Minh whose life is so inspirational and immortal in Vietnamese people’s hearts. For each work I created, I had a chance to reflect on myself  and try for a better version of me. Entries have contributed to encouraging people to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example with their practical contributions to society," said Hoang. 

"Entries are in various forms: literature, poems, music, and stage. More competitions will be launched in the future to help both artists and the common public better understand President Ho Chi Minh, his life and career, as well as the nationwide campaign on studying and following President Ho’s moral example," said artist Hua Thi Anh Dao, Deputy Head of the Can Tho City Union of Literature and Arts Associations.
