“VOV Live-Story reading” wins YouTube Creator Awards

(VOVWORLD) - Since it began one year ago, “VOV Live-Story reading” channel has attracted more than 100,000 followers, enough to earn a silver button on YouTube. It now has attracted 24 million views around the world.

Bedtime stories and longer episodes have been popular programs on the Voice of Vietnam for a long time. VOV has presented classic works of literature as well as new works by younger writers.

“Our shows often feature literary works that the audience has expressed an interest in. Apart from that, we also have interactive sessions and commentaries by editors, writers, and collaborators to get more objective views about the works,” said Tran Nhat Minh, head of VOV’s Department of Literature and Arts.

YouTube Creator Awards, also known as YouTube Play Buttons or YouTube Plaques, are awards from YouTube that recognize the most popular channels. The Silver Creator Award is given to channels that reach 100,000 subscribers. 

Nguyen Thu Trang of Hanoi, a regular listener to VOV’s story-telling shows, said, “It’s very easy and convenient to get access to the story telling show via the app VOV Live. The program is lively with narration accompanied by music and has various options. VOV Live helps to connect radio programs with their listeners.”

VOV Live app focuses on diversifying ways for listeners to access VOV’s story-telling programs and other radio programs.

Nguyen Kha Thoa, Head of VOV’s Advertising and Multimedia Services Center, said, “Many surveys show that the story telling show has a great potential to grow, so we are focusing our investment on this channel, including producing the content and expanding to a digital platform. Now, the program is accessible by radio or smartphone”.

The story telling show is now livestreamed at 10 pm every day. Each show lasts 10-15 minutes and depicts some aspect of life accompanied by soft background music.
