Forum speakers said fostering science and technology, advancing the digital economy, accelerating digital transformation, and promoting innovation are critical to enhancing Vietnam's global standing and strengthening connections between investors and localities.
Dr. Dinh Viet Hoa, Chairman of the National Startup Association, said: "We’re proud to tell you that our leadership has adopted a strong vision and a robust strategy for national development which is propelling us into a new era of rising. This vision extends beyond central authorities to every Vietnamese citizen. For startups and innovators, the vision serves as a compass, guiding us to create products that contribute to the nation's progress."
The Forum allowed technology experts to share cutting-edge knowledge, the latest technologies, and business, marketing, investment, and trade promotion strategies to facilitate the growth of Vietnam’s technology enterprises, attract foreign investment, foster innovation, and enable Vietnamese startups to thrive.
Nguyen Mai Duong, Director of the Department of Technology Development and Innovation at the Ministry of Science and Technology, said: "At the recent plenum of the Party Central Committee, General Secretary To Lam said science, technology, and innovation are breakthrough forces that will bring Vietnam into a new era—an era of national rise, focusing on economic growth, increasing productivity, enhancing labor quality, and strengthening the adoption of advanced technologies and innovations by enterprises. This event provides a platform for businesses, organizations, and individuals to align their goals and contribute collectively to national socio-economic development."
The Vietnamese Government declared 2016 “National Startup Year,” igniting a nationwide entrepreneurial spirit, enhancing the business investment climate, and spurring the growth of innovative enterprises. In recent years, the government has enacted numerous policies and mechanisms to promote the application, transfer, and development of technology and innovation.
These initiatives have created a framework for building a robust national innovation system, encouraging enterprises to invest in research, market development, and innovative ventures.
