(VOVWORLD) - As the 2024 Christmas season approaches, the demand for gifts and festive decorations is booming in Ho Chi Minh City. Retail outlets, supermarkets, and shopping malls are filled with a variety of Christmas-related products.

Hai Thuong Lan Ong street in District 5, renowned for seasonal gifts and decorations, has rows of shops selling Christmas trees, snowmen, holly wreaths, and reindeer.
The price of a small Christmas tree ranges from 7 to 14 USD. A larger tree costs between 18 and 140 USD. Each tree decoration costs between 60 cents and 8 USD.
In the Cho Lon area, the festive shopping atmosphere is growing lively. Pham Minh Lam, a business owner in District 11, said: “I came to buy decorations for my car and office. Although prices are cheaper online, I need printed receipts and decided to shop in person, which is more convenient since I can see the items before I buy.”
Supermarkets and shopping malls are selling pre-decorated 1.5- to 3.6-meter artificial Christmas trees plus accessories for 60 to 260 USD. Christmas-themed sweaters, socks, hats, gloves, and hairbands are widely available.
Tran Xuan Mai, a customer at MM Mega Market Center in District 6, said: “I bought a Christmas tree, some bells, and decorative lights for my company. First, I bought a beautiful tree for 31 USD. I had checked prices at the street market, saw they were higher, and returned to the supermarket.”
To stimulate spending, Ho Chi Minh City retailers have launched multiple promotional programs and discounts.
