Festivals, art programs celebrate National Reunification Day

(VOVWORLD) - Localities nationwide are organizing a wide range of festivals and art programs to celebrate the 48th anniversary of National Reunification Day, involving a large number of artists. Hong Phuong and Thanh Long reports.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and relevant agencies are organizing multiple performances in districts and towns. A special art program called “Country in full swing of happiness” will be held in the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem lake in Hanoi on Friday. 

Quang Tri province will organize a flag-raising ceremony at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai special national relic site and launch the 2nd contest on designing logos featuring the theme “Wish for peace”.

The Da Nang Center for Cinematography Art and other agencies will organize a street music program, a performance of folk music and singing, and several cultural and art exchanges featuring the theme “The dance of the Han river”.

Ngo Van Bay, Director of the Center, said: "In addition to art programs, we will set up decoration corners and posters along main streets by the Han river. Displays marking National Reunification Day will also be created. "

HCM city is hosting a photo exhibition and a festival with the theme “National Reunification Festival” until May 6 and will organize a firework display on Sunday. 

The 2023 hot air balloon festival will take place in Can Tho city from Saturday to next Wednesday. A large national flag of 1.800 sq. m will fly over the Can Tho stadium for a flag salute ceremony. 

Hoang Ngoc Nam, Chairman of the Sai Gon Chien Thang Joint Stock Company, which is the organizer of the hot air balloon festival, said: "On Friday, the flag will be displayed at the Can Tho stadium for people to sign on. It has been signed by many people around the country. At the ceremony, 1,000 people will carry the flag. When the national anthem is played, hot air balloons will fly around the stadium."

Festivals and art programs celebrating National Reunification Day (April 30), and May Day inspire national pride and promote patriotism to the public, as well as Vietnamese culture, its land and people to international friends.
