Influence of literature on studying Ho Chi Minh’s moral example
(VOVWORLD) -More than 2,000 entries were submitted to a writing contest on studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and style.

The contest’s Award Steering Committee said the entries reflect the respect and affection Vietnamese and foreign writers feel for President Ho Chi Minh.

Nguyen The Ky, Voice of Vietnam President and Chairman of the Central Council for the Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts, said the entries honor organizations and role models for their practical activities and influence in the campaign. “Sincere affection, deep understanding of Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and style, and the boundless creativity and hard work of writers, journalists, broadcasters, media agencies, and publishers have made the award successful. They have fulfilled a Politburo Decree and a Party Resolution on improving public awareness on Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and style.”

The jury board honored 164 works by 19 organizations and 11 individuals, all Vietnamese of different ethnic groups and different ages.
Bich Ngan of the Tran Huu Trang Reformed Opera Theater won a second prize for her theatrical work:
“It’s a story about benefit and prestige, and belief in sacrifice and national defense. The main character is Ba Tai, a cashier. We need people like him, with the characters of a revolutionary and a guardian of national and public interests.”
Literary and journalistic works exert a strong influence on society through the campaign on studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and lifestyle.
