(VOVWORLD) - Phở (Vietnamese noodle soup) is a unique dish embracing the quintessence of Vietnamese culinary culture. Vietnamese Phở has spread to other countries and territories, helping to promote Vietnamese cuisine worldwide. Since 2017, Vietnam has observed December 12 as “Phở Day.”

Earlier this year, CNN included Vietnamese beef noodle soup in its list of the 20 best soups in the world. In 2021, on the occasion of Vietnam Phở Day, Google, the world's largest search engine, incorporated Vietnamese Pho into its homepage doodle. Phở has been praised by international travel magazines for decades, and foreign visitors to Vietnam often rave about this dish in their travel blogs.

This year, the 6th Vietnamese Phở Day was celebrated from December 10 to December 12 in Nam Dinh province, the birthplace of Pho and famous for its Vân Cù Phở village.
Celebrating Phở Day has become an annual cultural activity promoting traditional Vietnamese dishes. Contests are held to honor the best Pho cooks and the best stories about Pho. At the Gala Day of Phở 2022, held at Vi Xuyen Park, Nam Dinh city, Pho recipes from across the country competed.
Mr. La Quoc Khanh, Vice President of the Vietnamese Culirary Culture Association, said: "We want to introduce to visiting fans of Phở the quintessential noodle soup of Nam Dinh, one of the birthplaces of Vietnamese Phở."
Over the past five years, the celebration of Phở Day has received the attention and active support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies, and international organizations.
Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said: "Promoting Phở in 50 countries has made Nam Dinh province and Vietnam better known around the world and more attractive to tourists. Nam Dinh is becoming a more popular tourist destination thanks to Phở. "
