Tet support for social beneficiaries

(VOVWORLD) - Upholding the tradition of “Remember the source of the water we drink” and the spirit of “Leave no one behind”, the government and localities have launched activities to help poor people and social beneficiaries enjoy a happier Lunar New Year.

Da Nang city has organized programs to help disadvantaged people and Co Tu ethnic people in Hoa Bac mountain district, including distributing 2.3 million USD worth of gifts. Local authorities have given 10,000 Tet gifts to Co Tu families.

Vietnam’s President will give 220,000 USD worth of gifts to social beneficiary people and organizations in Quang Ninh province. The provincial government will distribute another 4.3 million USD and districts and communes will also deliver gifts.

Ha Thi Thanh Le, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh’s Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, said: “This year, the gifts for some, like the armed forces in border areas and islands and social workers and emergency staff at hospitals, will be higher than in previous years. People affected by the COVID-19 pandemic will receive an allowance.”

Vice President Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh paid Tet visits to revolutionary families and poor workers in Long An and Binh Duong province.

Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Đào Ngọc Dung handed out 150 gifts to revolutionary contributors and poor ethnic families in extremely poor communes in Bát Xát district, Lào Cai province.

Deputy Head of the Party Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Điểu K’ré gave Tet gifts to 80 extremely disadvantaged children at the Dien Bien provincial Center for Social Protection, and 40 gifts to war invalids and revolutionary contributors.
