This year Vietnam surpassed a number of countries, including China, India, the Republic of Korea, and Thailand to secure the title Asia’s Leading Destination, which it held before in 2018 and 2019.

Vietnam was also selected as Asia’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism was named Asia’s Leading Tourist Board.

Vietnam Airlines won the Asia’s Leading Airline for Economy Class award, while Vietravel was awarded the title Asia’s Leading Tour Operator.

Hoi An was named Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination, Ha Long Bay was named Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction, and Cuc Phuong National Park was named Asia’s Leading National Park.

The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort won the title Asia’s Leading Green Resort, while Muong Thanh Luxury Nha Trang grabbed the title Asia’s Leading Beach Hotel. La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc – M Gallery topped the category Asia’s Leading Romantic Boutique Resort.

Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay on Phu Quoc Island was selected Asia’s Leading Hotel Residences.

Graham Cooke, the founder of World Travel Awards, said the winners are excellent representatives of Asia’s tourism and hotels, and will play a key role in tourism and travel recovery. Vietnam’s tourism has made a giant leap in the last decade, from a relatively unknown travel destination to a globally-recognized resort heaven. In a generally gloomy global tourism industry ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam stands out as a bright spot on the world tourism map.
