Vietnam strengthens digitalization to improve competitiveness

(VOVWORLD) - Digitalization is a trend of the 4th industrial revolution. During the COVID-19 pandemic, digitalization has helped improve competitiveness and smart production.

Digitalization requires a clear awareness of what is wanted and what technology is needed, and the whole company must be involved in changing and improving human resources.

Businesses need to adopt a digitalization strategy with specific plans for each stage and quantitative criteria to measure progress. Economists say business leaders should take the lead in the digitalization process to pool experts, apply new production methods, combine technological solutions, and use database management tools.

Vietnam should build a system of tools and mechanisms to trace each product’s origin, ensure product quality on digital transaction floors, and abide by international law. Nguyen Tuan Hoa of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center said: “We have to make a revolution in our businesses. If we want to survive, we have to digitalize. In order to develop a digital economy, we have to become digital businesses, map out digitalization plans, and apply digitalization. We have to combine all these conditions to design a smart production system, totally change corporate culture, and production procedure.”

Sectors and ministries have launched digitalization programs. The goal by 2025 is that 100% of businesses have increased their awareness of digitalization and at least 100,000 businesses have become digital transformation models for replication, and a network of experts has been established to provide businesses consultancy and solutions for digital transformation.
