(VOVWORLD) - In the cool, misty air of the Lam Vien plateau, rows of lush green strawberry plants stretch out, with ripe red berries peeking from beneath the leaves, waiting to be picked. Strawberry picking in Da Lat is a delightful activity that connects people with nature.

Every day, the Prenn Pass strawberry farm in Da Lat city welcomes hundreds of visitors. Unlike traditional farms, this one uses a high-tech cultivation model with closed greenhouses, drip irrigation, and year-round harvest.
Hoang Thi Dung, manager of the farm, said: “We mainly grow strawberries in greenhouses. We cultivate various types, including American, Japanese, and Da Lat strawberry varieties.”

A staff member Thuy Trang said besides offering strawberry-picking service, they also sell potted strawberry plants to visitors to grow at home. Caring for strawberry plant is quite easy.
“We sell each pot at 50,000 VND, less than 2 USD. At home you can grow them in a foam box, water it every day, and occasionally add fertilizer. After four months, it will bear fruit,” Trang said.

The strawberries are grown on racks about one meter above the ground. Under the soft sunlight, the bright red strawberries stand out against the green leaves, creating a picturesque scene that anyone would want to take photos.
Visitor Thu Huong from Hanoi said: “I’ve picked strawberries in Moc Chau before, but this is my first time doing it in Da Lat. Handpicking strawberries give me a refreshing feeling. My kids are so excited. I think this tourism activity can teach children about agriculture and the hard work of farmers.”

Strawberries have long been a signature specialty of Da Lat as its temperate climate and fertile soil provides ideal conditions for strawberry cultivation. Besides the strawberry picking service, the local farms have processed different types of products.
Manager Dung of Prenn Pass farm, said: “Strawberries can be made into syrup, crispy dried fruit, or jam. The crispy dried strawberries are processed by machines at our registered production facility. The quality is guaranteed.”
Amid the fast pace of modern life, a strawberry-picking trip in Da Lat feels like a sweet pause. Visitors can take home baskets of fresh, ripe strawberries as well as memories of a peaceful land and friendly farmers.
