Minh Long crafts Vietnam’s ceramic heritage

(VOVWORLD) - Last month, the Minh Long ceramics brand was among 190 honorees of the 2024 National Brand Award. This was the 9th consecutive year that Minh Long I Company Limited has received the title. For more than half a century, Minh Long I has been innovating, asserting its position in the international market, and promoting Vietnamese branded products to consumers around the world.

Minh Long I was founded in 1970 by Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO Ly Ngoc Minh. Its products have become indispensable to many Vietnamese families because of their quality and beauty.

Minh Long now has more than 3,000 products of various designs, styles, and patterns. Its ceramic items for homes, offices, restaurants, and hotels meet the strictest quality, technical, and aesthetic standards in the world.

To produce such high-quality products, the Minh Long I Company has employed state-of-the-art production lines from Germany and Japan. It uses a combination of rare clay to ensure the products contain no toxins.

Nguyen Thi Hong Anh, General Manager of Minh Long showrooms nationwide, said Minh Long I products combine all the criteria consumers desire – strong, durable, and free of any impurities harmful to health. She said Minh Long's products are fired at 1,380 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature that ceramics can withstand.

“Minh Long is the only company in Vietnam and one of a few brands in the world that can fire at this temperature, which ensures that the products are stronger, more durable, and safer for health,” said Hong Anh, adding, “Minh Long also uses nano-technology for coating the enamel layer, making the product shinier, smoother, and resistant to stains and contamination. It is also easier to wash.”

Safety constitutes a crucial factor for consumers to choose Minh Long products. For the past 50 years, the company has paid special attention to improving its products to suit consumers’ tastes, ensure their health, protect the environment, and maintain the brand's uniqueness.

Their "green" product lines are comprised of health-enhancing porcelain cups, boxes, and bottles, said Chairman and CEO Ly Ngoc Minh.

“No matter how creative a product is, we can’t say it’s successful until it meets the customers’ needs. It’s difficult to make a product. But it’s even harder to meet the requirements of society and consumers,” said Chairman Minh.

He told VOV, “We pursue the business philosophy of ‘simplicity and effectiveness’. If we can’t make simple things, how can we have effectiveness? We’ve also set an additional norm of ‘safety’. A number of our products have been made for 2 years but haven’t been released to the market because we need a lot of time for testing.”

Minh Long I is a leading ceramic brand in Vietnam. It has a system of showrooms, distributors, and agents nationwide and in 10 international markets, including Germany, France, Netherlands, the US, and Japan.

Chairman Minh said his company keeps investing in research, innovation, and preserving the national cultural identity on each product.

According to the Chairman, Minh Long uses the world's latest technology to produce high-quality porcelain with one-time firing. It’s not easy to achieve European quality, especially German standards, with one-time firing.

“We have automated our one-time firing technology to make the process faster. It takes 72 hours in other countries, but only 24 hours for Minh Long to make products of the same quality. That’s a breakthrough,” said Minh.

For 50 years Minh Long porcelain has been receiving numerous national and international awards. It has won the prestigious “National Brand” award 9 times and the “Vietnam High-quality Goods” award 28 times, proving its position as a leading ceramics producer in Vietnam.
