Full-moon festivals for poor children in central region

(VOVworld) – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and representatives from the National Fund for Vietnamese Children on Sunday presented gifts to unfortunate children in Quang Tri province on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival. 200 scholarships were given to children affected with Agent Orange/Dioxin and children living in coastal areas.

On Saturday, Mrs. Thinh attended a program called “Enjoying the Mid-Autumn Festival with children in the central region”. She gave 1,000 gifts and 100 scholarships to children in Quang Binh province.
Hoang Van Tien, Director of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, said: “We organize the Mid-Autumn festivals to call on Vietnamese at home and abroad to continue to support children in the central region. Together with their families and the local administrations, we have exercised the basic rights of children. Children are enabled to go to school in any circumstances.”
