B: I’m reading a letter from Tomas Bielieuskas, a young shortwave listener in Lithuania, who has been engaged in this hobby since late 2017. Tomas says he sent reception reports to VOV twice last year, but hasn’t received any response.
A: We’re sorry to hear that. We’ve checked our archives but found none of them. They may have gone astray somewhere. We invite you to try sending us those reports again.
B: Tomas said: “I really like your programs. They are clear, informative, and not too long. All the most important information about Vietnam is in one short program. That’s great! On March 4 I also enjoyed the song at the end of the program. It was funny and nice. Later I even visited your website to listen to it a second time.”
A: Tomas continued: “I’m interested in the cutlure and history of Vietnam. I’m interested in your revolutionary history and the personality of your leader Ho Chi Minh. I hope to learn more about these subjects.”

A: Here’s a letter from Fumito Hokamura of Japan, a regular listener to VOV’s Japanese and English programs. Hokamura says he just received a QSL card from VOV’s Japanese Section. He also sent a reception report to the English Section, but he says it’s difficult for him to write a report in English.

A: Abu Sayed of Bangladesh told us that he listened to VOV’s broadcast to Dhaka City on the frequency of 7280khz on April 10th. He used a Kchibo KK-9812 receiver and rated SINPO at 44344. He said: “I learned the latest news in Vietnam and around the world through your world news bulletin. Then I learned about the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in different countries and about progress in the search for a vaccine around the world.”

B: When COVID-19 broke out in Vietnam, research centers and even students started making products to help fight the disease. Lecturers and students at the HCMC University of Technology built a machine that can crank out 90 facemasks a minute. Previous machines could only produce 15 facemasks a minute.
A: Lac Hong University in Dong Nai province created hand sanitizers using silver nano technology. Kien Giang College created an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser, non-contact thermometers, and automatic body sanitizing booths. The dispenser automatically releases hand sanitizing liquid when an infrared sensor detects an obstruction. Other universities and colleges have produced thousands of liters of hand sanitizing liquid.

A: Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi has piloted a disinfection chamber at its operations center.The disinfection chamber was developed by engineers at the Noi Bai Aviation Technical Service Center. Its main component is a 360-degree mist sprayer that sprays anolyte solution, a powerful disinfectant against bacteria and viruses. The process is automatically triggered when a person steps into the chamber. It takes only 30 seconds to complete the disinfection.

B: The Institute of Occupational Health and Environment under the Ministry of Health collaborated with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology to design and manufacture mobile disinfection chambers.
A: Their system has a dry and a wet room, working on the principle of using an ionized saline solution (anolyte) in the form of a mist that spraysthe whole body to quickly disinfect its surface. All disinfectant solutions are prepared by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and are safe for sensitive skin areas.
B: Andy Martynyuk of Russia reported tuning in to our program on March 8th on 7280khz using a Tecsun PL 880 receiver. He rated SINPO at 54554. This week, Andy asked for details of VOV’s writing contest, which is held every five years.
A: The 2020 contest, which coincides with many important events in Vietnam and VOV, is open to foreigners and overseas Vietnamese around the world.
