The event was jointly held by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Committee, and the Bao Viet Life Insurance Corporation to spread the spirit of a healthy lifestyle in the communities.
Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish told the ceremony Yoga can make the positive change towards harmony, peace, and contentment in the world. Today, Yoga helps connect people.
The celebration culminated in a performance of over 1,500 yogis in Hanoi, which started at 7pm.

Performers with different ages, sexes, occupations and nationalities share a passion for Yoga.
“Common Yoga Protocol”, a basic Yoga exercise guides people how to live in a healthy way, balance their emotions, and have positive and smart thinking.
This is a great event for Yoga enthusiasts learn from each others.
In Vietnam, tens of thousands of people have practiced Yoga.
The International Yoga Day will be celebrated in Gia Lai, Tien Giang, Vinh Phuc, and Dong Nai provinces, as well as Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Can Tho and Da Nang cities until July 15th.
The Yoga performance closed with an art program.
The Yoga International Day is observed every year to help improve health and connect people.

1,500 people perform Yoga in Hanoi

(VOVWORLD) -Some 1,500 people joined a Yoga performance at the Hanoi Gymnasium on June 16,  to mark the International Yoga Day, which falls on June 21.
