The delegates put forward more than 100 recommendations on various issues, discussed the management and implementation of the People’s Council’s resolutions on socio-economic development and budget spending in the first half of this year. For the first time, the delegates cast votes of confidence on officials elected by the municipal People’s Council.
Speaking at the closing session, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan claimed responsibility for the shortcomings in management, and committed to work harder to better fulfill this year’s socio-economic targets. "The city People’s Council will focus its effort on resolving obstacles for businesses to develop production and sell their products and impose policies on tax exemption and deference in line with Government decree 02. The city will implement the Prime Minister’s Directive on restructuring State-owned enterprises, the master program on economic restructuring in association with shifting the growth model toward improving quality, efficiency, and competitiveness from 2013-2020. The city will tighten the management of the foreign exchange and gold markets and control prices to curb inflation in the last months of the year.", Quan said.
