(VOVworld) – Some 13 trillion tons of litchis worth 6.5 million USD have been exported to China through border gates in Lao Cai province.

As Vietnamese litchi is in the main harvesting season, an average of 800 tons of litchis is exported to China a day. Do Trung Hieu, deputy chief of the customs division of Lao Cai international border gate, said recently cargo checkers have begun their work 30 minutes earlier than normal:
“We are applying the automatic customs clearance system which takes a few minutes to complete all required procedures if enterprises fill in declaration forms correctly. Customs officers will create the best possible conditions for the commodities, especially agricultural produce, including litchi, to go if the items meet the set requirements.”
