(VOVworld) - The 20th Francophone Day of the Mekong Delta came back to Can Tho city on March 11-12 in celebration of the International Francophonie Day (March 20).

The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), the Vietnam-France Friendship Organisation’s chapter in Can Tho, and Can Tho University.

Nguyen Thanh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho municipal People’s Committee, praised activities and cooperative programs of the Francophonie community in the Mekong River Delta, which he said have contributed to expanding Vietnam-France ties in culture and education and the comprehensive development and cooperation strategy between the two governments.
