(VOVWORLD) -The Red Cross Society of Da Nang City has to date raised 2.1 million USD from philanthropists to help poor students and families in difficult circumstances.

In a ceremony on Sunday, the Red Cross Society provided aid to 156 disadvantaged students, 90 USD each. It is part of a campaign "Each organization, each individual helps a person," which has been operating for more than 10 years.
Le Thi Nhu Hong, Chairwoman of Da Nang Red Cross said, “The Red Cross Society has been working for more than 10 years and every year we raise some 200,000 USD and provide the sum to 3,000 households in difficult circumstances and needy students. This is a shared encouragement for students and parents as we desire that students will have the opportunity to continue schooling. We will continue to campaign for donations to help those in need.”
