2nd Eastern Economic Forum kicks off in Russia

(VOVworld) - The two-day-long Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) opened in Vladivostok, Russia, on Friday to boost economic development of the Far East and broaden internal cooperation of the Asia-Pacific region.

The forum is held in accordance with the Decree of President Vladimir Putin and attended by 2,500 representatives. Russia is presenting 111 investment projects, worth 40 billion USD, in this year’s forum. 

The first Eastern Economic Forum took place last year as part of Russia’s Look East policy when Russia was dealing with economic sanctions imposed by the West. 80 cooperative agreements, worth 20 billion USD, were signed last year.
