60% of Japanese firms look to expand business in Vietnam in next two years

(VOVWORLD) - More than 60% of Japanese companies plan to expand their business in Vietnam in the next two years, according to a seminar on trade and investment opportunities between Vietnam and Japan in Hanoi on Thursday.

The Japan Business Association in Vietnam reported that more than 2,000 Japanese firms are operating in Hanoi, HCM city and Da Nang and they are focusing on renewable energy, electricity production infrastructure, and urban development.

A survey by the Japan External Trade Organization named Vietnam as the most promising business destination in ASEAN for Japanese firms.

Chairman of the Japan Business Association in Vietnam Tadahiro Kinoshita asked that Vietnam continue fine-tuning its legal framework to facilitate business activities.
