80th anniversary of Vietnam People's Army celebrated in UK
(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Embassy in London held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) on Wednesday.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the British Parliament, embassies and international organizations and Vietnamese associations in the UK attended the event.
In his address, Vietnamese Ambassador Do Minh Hung highlighted the history of the development of the Vietnam People's Army since December 22, 1944.
Over the past 80 years, the Vietnam People's Army has grown steadily, playing an important role in the struggles for national independence and freedom and in current national construction and defense.
Hung said the Vietnam People's Army has enhanced international integration and defense diplomacy and actively participated in United Nations peacekeeping activities.
