94 outstanding Youth Union officials honored with Ly Tu Trong Award

(VOVWORLD) - 94 outstanding Youth Union officials were presented with Ly Tu Trong Award at a ceremony held both online and offline on Wednesday, for their excellent achievements in study, work, and Youth Union movements.

Of the 94 honorees, 11 are from the Tay, Thai, Day, Muong, Mong, Khmer, and Ma ethnic minorities. The youngest is 24 years old.

Dang Van Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Youth Union, said, “Facing the fear of the COVID-19 pandemic, we didn’t go home for many days and motivated officers, soldiers, and youth union members to turn fear into strength. We encouraged them to lead the pandemic prevention work at the grassroots level.”

The Ly Tu Trong Award honors outstanding Youth Union leaders across the country to encourage the development of Youth Union organisations and motivate young leaders devote their talent and youth to national construction and defense.

Ly Tu Trong was a revolutionary and the first Youth Union member, who died in 1931 at the age 17.
