Activities mark Vietnamese Doctors’ Day
(VOVWORLD) - Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee Tran Viet Truong on Saturday visited some hospitals to congratulate doctors and medical staff on Vietnamese Doctors’ Day.
 The Ministry of Defense gave the honorable title of People’s Doctor and Emeritus Doctor to dozens of medical workers. |
He appreciated their particular efforts in fighting the coronavirus pandemic. He expected them to continue to improve profession and promote medical ethics to offer the best healthcare services to the people.
“I call on the healthcare professionals to overcome difficulties to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. The leaders of hospitals, doctors, and medical staff are encouraged to share the burden and support the city in the fight against the pandemic,” said Truong.
The Voice of Ho Chi Minh city and the Ho Chi Minh City’s Health Department co-organized an award ceremony to honor medical achievements and doctors’ contributions to public health. After 3 months of launching, the organizing board received 60 nominations. A jury board of professors, scientists, and doctors selected 22 outstanding nominations for a public poll to choose 16 most impressive medical achievements in 2020.
