Activities to mark Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on Nov 20th

(VOVworld) - Activities have been held to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on 20th November and honor outstanding individuals and organizations for their contributions to emulation movements during the 2013-2014 academic year.

Cu A Giang, a Mong ethnic person, has worked at Lao Chai Kindergarten in Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province for 2 years. He is one of few people to do a job that seems to be for women.

In Da Nang, 16 organizations and 249 teachers received certificates of merit and medals for the cause of education for their excellent performance.

Hau Giang’s Department of Education and Training organized a meeting to review 3 years of implementing a campaign to learn and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. Six schools and 11 educators were honored.

Tay Ninh’s Department of Education and Training awarded the title ‘Excellent teacher’ to 8 teachers for their contributions to education.

On this occasion, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan sent a letter to congratulate teachers and education workers nationwide. He said that education reform would continue to be accelerated and coordinated. He also expressed his belief that the teachers and education managers would continue to improve their qualifications and performance to meet the aspirations of the Party, state, and people. 
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam the same day attended a ceremony to mark the occasion at the National Academy of Politics and Public Administration in Hanoi. He presented the title Meritorious Teacher to 6 lecturers, the Labor Order to the Academy, and the Prime Minister's certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals in training and scientific research.
