(VOVWORLD) - Famous actor Thuong Tin passed away on Monday at the age of 69 at his home in Khanh Hoa province, after a long battle with illness.

Thuong Tin, born Bui Thuong Tin in 1956 in Phan Rang, Ninh Thuan (now Khanh Hoa), loved cai luong from an early age. He studied at the Saigon National School of Music and Drama, worked in theater troupes, and later became one of Vietnam’s most famous film actors in the 1980s.
He was best known for his classic roles of Lieutenant Luu Ky Vong in “Cards On The Table”, a bandit named Bach Hai Duong in “SBC”, and Sau Tam in “Sai Gon Special Forces”.
Thuong Tin had a stroke in 2021. In early 2022, after recovering, he continued performing at small music events. In his final days, he struggled with poor health and several illnesses.
