Mohammad Khan Rahmani, First Deputy Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, signs, subject to ratification, Afghanistan’s Protocol on the Accession to the WTO at the 10th Ministerial Conference in Nairobi in December 2015.

Afghanistan has become the 164th WTO member and the 36th least developed country (LDC) to join the global trade body after nearly 12 years of negotiations.
Being a member of WTO will permit Afghanistan to have trade relations including exports and imports with 163 countries, and most of the countries will reduce their tariffs to zero on commercial goods to Afghanistan.
