AFP seeks comprehensive cooperation with Voice of Vietnam

Deputy President Hai briefed the AFP delegation on VOV’s recent developments towards becoming a multimedia news agency, in particular with existing 8 radio channels, 18 TV channels, 2 online newspapers and one printed newspaper. VOV broadcasts in 12 languages and another 12 ethnic languages. It has relations with more than 60 TV, radio and media associations in the world.

Deputy President Vu Hai said he hopes both sides could cooperate in media, TV and training: “Voice of Vietnam wants to cooperate with AFP, probably in news purchasing and video production training. VOV has been a multimedia agency with TV, radio, electronic newspaper, and printed newspaper and there should be more training. We wish to receive training services from foreign experts, especially by the French.”

Mr Hoog said AFP has more than 250 foreign offices in 151 countries with the latest office opened in Pyongyang. AFP produced 5,000 news items in 6 languages, 3,000 photos, 70 graphic news and 200 video clips on a daily basis. It has strengths in sport news and invested heavily in multimedia. AFP now has 5,000 clients and looks for further cooperation with Voice of Vietnam in the future.
