In his speech on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said government leaders have made 570 working trips during the 2016-2021 term to address pressing issues in various localities. He emphasized on the government’s priority to create new breakthrough for growth while securing a success in Covid 19 pandemic control.

“Major breakthrough in socialist market economy orientation, legislative program by the government to focus on priority and resources for the enforcement, in sync and integration of the legal system. Breakthrough in human resource quality improvement and job creation for nearly 8 million people, considering human factor at the center of innovation. Breakthrough in infrastructure is a leading magnet for investment and better quality growth,” said Mr. Phuc.

The Prime Minister hailed macro-economic stability as seen in the reduction of public debt from 64.5% of the GDP to 55.3% with safer and more solid debt structure.

“We are confident in our income accumulation and improvement in fiscal space, especially during high growth rates from 2016 to 2019, which helped the economic and the people overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic. Vietnam’s credit ratings have been raised according to various international rating agencies, proving Vietnam’s improved macro-economic stability despite the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

The government has consistently pursued flexible and efficient diplomatic, political, legal and communications solutions to protect the national sovereignty in line with international law. 84% of border demarcation with Cambodia has been completed. Foreign relations communications, cultural and citizen protections overseas have been strengthened amid  the pandemic.

The Prime Minister expressed his optimism about Vietnam’s prosperous horizon in the middle of the 21st century without anyone being left behind and all will benefit from outcomes of renovation and growth.
