Anti-corruption effort sees “comprehensive results”

(VOVWORLD) - The battle against corruption was intensified and recorded progress across the board last year, according to a regular meeting of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption in Hanoi on Monday.

During the meeting, it was revealed that a number of legal documents were issued in 2018 to address loopholes that encourage corruption and special interest groups. Party leader and President Nguyen Phu Trong said that institutions on socio-economic management and anti-corruption will continue to be improved while major steps in the fight against corruption will be  presented at the 2021 National Party Congress.

Last year, the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission took disciplinary measures on more than 650 Party members including high-ranking officials. 10 major corruption cases were brought to court.
