Aquaculture to become large-scale production sector
(VOVWORLD) - The government has approved a project to develop aquaculture into a large-scale production sector with an export revenue of billions of USD.
Under the project on aquaculture development by 2030 with a vision to 2045, the sector will create branding products, generate jobs, help improve socio-economic development and raise income for people living in coastal regions. It also aims to help protect Vietnam’s maritime security.
By 2030, the aquaculture farming area will be expanded to 280,000 ha with a yield of 850,000 tons and an export value of 1.8 to 2 billion USD.
