Arab FMs meet over US support for Israeli settlements
(VOVWORLD) -Arab foreign ministers held an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss the US’s recent declaration of support for the establishment of Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories.

The meeting was held in Cairo at the request of Palestine. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit slammed, in a televised speech, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's announcement as a "very negative development and regrettable transformation of the US stance."
He added that the US decision will negatively impact any prospect of achieving peace in the future. Aboul-Gheit said that the US decision effectively ends its role as a mediator after four decades.
