ASEAN Day in Berlin aims at stronger bilateral ties
(VOVWORLD) - The Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), comprising 10 ASEAN Embassies, hosted ASEAN Day on Thursday to promote ASEAN culture and cooperation between ASEAN and Germany.

The Committee’s President Touch Saphanrath, who is also the Cambodian Ambassador to Germany, said ASEAN has become a strong, united community with comprehensive connectivity and growing global role and status.
Ambassador Saphanrath underscored the growing ties between ASEAN and the EU, saying she looks forward to greater support for ASEAN’s sustainable development.
According to Petra Sigmund, Deputy Director General for East Asia, South East Asia and Pacific at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, Germany is the first developed nation to partner with ASEAN and both sides have a great potential for cooperation in environmental protection and renewable energy technology.
