Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung said delegates reviewed Vietnam’s initiatives during its ASEAN Chairmanship in 2020 and discussed the implementation of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ resolution agreed in Thailand last year: “This year marks Vietnam’s 25^th anniversary of ASEAN accession. We are proud of our ASEAN Chairmanship. Based on foundation built by Thailand and predecessors in their ASEAN chairmanship, Vietnam commits close cooperation with ASEAN members to promote joint objectives in the principle of consensus and ASEAN central role for people’s benefit, peace, stability and prosperity in the region.”
