ASEAN+3, EAS, ARF meetings held in Singapore

(VOVWORLD) - Foreign Ministers of ASEAN, China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea met on Saturday in Singapore on the sidelines of the 51st ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM 51) to discuss measures to boost cooperation and deal with challenges facing the region.

Also on Saturday, ASEAN Foreign Ministers also met their counterparts from ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners (namely Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, and the United States) to discuss both ongoing and future cooperation at the 8th East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

The 25th Asian Regional Forum also held several meetings on Saturday within the framework og the 51st AMM. Delegates discussed pressing issues in the region and the world, including escalating trade tensions and the situations on the Korean peninsula and the East Sea.
