AstraZeneca: vaccine review finds no evidence of increased blood clot risks

(VOVWORLD) - AstraZeneca on Sunday said it has conducted a review of people vaccinated with its COVID-19 vaccine, which has shown no evidence of an increased risk of blood clots.

The statement said that a careful review of all available safety data from more than 17 million people vaccinated in the Europe with the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has shown no evidence of an increased risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis or thrombocytopenia, in any defined age group, gender, batch or in any particular country.

Previously, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) said that blood clots were not a side-effect that had been caused by the COVID-19 vaccine. The World Health Organization (WHO) has also stated similar conclusions.
