Azerbaijan and Armenia agree on cease-fire

(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, the Armenian and Azerbaijani Defense Ministries agreed on a cease-fire following recent violent clashes. The cease-fire has begun and details of the agreement are being discussed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday called for a permanent end to all fighting in the disputed Nagorno Karabakh region after the ceasefire was reached. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said Kyrgyzstan is willing to mediate a settlement of the conflict. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran also could act as a mediator to peacefully settle the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
