Bauhinia Festival 2022 returns to Dien Bien
(VOVWORLD) - A 2-day festival honoring Ban (Bauhinia) flowers, a typical spring flower in Vietnam’s northern mountain region, opened on Sunday in Dien Bien province, after a two-year COVID-19 hiatus.
 An art performance at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Ban Flower Festival involves 200 artists.

In his opening remarks, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thang said the Ban Flower Festival has been held in mid-March every year since 2014, and has become a signature tourism event of Dien Bien province that draws visitors from all over the country.
He said the festival honors, preserves, and promotes the unique cultures of 19 ethnic minorities and the beautiful natural landscapes of Vietnam’s northwestern region.
“The festival is an opportunity for Dien Bien province to boost tourism cooperation, trade, and investment with companies and other localities. The growth of the festival is helping to realize the goal of making tourism a spearhead economic sector and driving the development of Vietnamese culture to meet the national sustainable development goals,” said Thang.
