Ben Tre becomes provincial city
(VOVWORLD) - A ceremony was held in Ben Tre province on Friday to celebrate the 44thSouthern Liberation Day and May Day and to announce the Prime Minister’s decision to recognize Ben Tre as a provincial city.
NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the event. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung lauded Ben Tre city’s rapid and dynamic growth.

Dung said: “It’s necessary to work out plans on urban development and socio-economic development in line with the government resolution on sustainable development of the Mekong River Delta in adaptation to climate change. We need to focus on key projects to make our investment more effective, particularly projects on infrastructure development, agriculture, and services.”
