Bomb rocks Nigerian church

A massive explosion set off by a suicide bomber rocked a catholic church in the northern Nigerian city of Bauchi, killing at least two and injuring 48. According to unconfirmed reports, the attacker died in the blast. The explosion is believed to have been a car bomb that went off while the church was holding a morning mass. The police have taken control of the area and the occupants of the church have been evacuated. The Boko Haram sect, based in Nigeria's mainly Muslim north, and campaigns against Western education, which it considers anti-Islamic. The group is pressing for strict enforcement of Islamic law in Nigeria after first overthrowing the current government.
