British Parliament backs PM Sunak’s post-Brexit Northern Ireland deal
(VOVWORLD) -By a vote of 515 to 29, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday won a Parliamentary vote on his new Northern Ireland post-Brexit deal with the European Union.

A majority of MPs also voted to support Sunak’s so-called "Stormont Brake", an important part of the UK-EU Windsor Framework, which gives the Northern Ireland assembly the power to object to changes to EU rules that apply in Northern Ireland.
The UK and EU announced the ‘Windsor Framework’ on February 27, resolving longstanding disagreements between the two sides over the Northern Ireland protocol on trade regulations applicable to the region during the post-Brexit period.
The protocol has been a continuing source of tension between the UK and the EU and in Northern Ireland politics.
