The official election on Tuesday involved 3.8 million voters, despite the calling of regional and international leaders to postpone due to the escalating violence before the election in Burundi. Opposition parties said Nkurunziza’s third term is unconstitutional and violates the peace agreement signed in 2006. Analysts said that the victory of president Nkurunziza might lead to will pay the way for bloody clashes and a new civil war in Burundi.
