Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company and Dabaco Vietnam Group made the pledge when they worked with a team from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, led by Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong, who were on an inspection tour of Hai Duong and Bac Ninh province on Sunday to oversee bird flu prevention and recovery from African Swine Fever.

Minister Cuong said reducing pork prices will contribute to the future of the animal husbandry sector because high pork prices adversely impact the consumer price index, the inflation index, and other sectors of the national economy.

“We need to protect the animal husbandry market so consumers don’t turn their back on pork. Expensive domestic pork will lose its market share to imported products. The most important thing is to share the cost between enterprises and society. Moderation is essential for sustainable development of the sector,” said Mr. Cuong.
