Canada donates 400,000 USD to help Vietnam's flood recovery

(VOVWORLD) - The Canadian government donated more than 400,000 USD to Ha Tinh and Quang Tri province to resolve the consequences of recent floods and storms.

The fund will be disbursed in 6 months through CARE Canada and Oxfam Quebec to help the two provinces ensure food security, housing, clean water, and environmental sanitation.

Since 1990 Canada has sent 1.5 billion CAD to different organizations to support Vietnam’s effort in poverty reduction and development in line with the country’s strategic priorities.

CARE Canada and Oxfam Quebec are members of the Humanitarian Coalition that presents in 154 countries. Its members carry out quick and appropriate response measures to disasters.
